David W. Venable

Practicing criminal defense law since 1996, David has represented clients in North Carolina District and Superior Courts, United States District Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. His practice focuses on criminal defense of persons or entities charged with criminal offenses or under investigation for possible criminal violations. David has represented clients in trials in North Carolina District and Superior Courts as well as in United States District Court. In addition, David has represented numerous clients in many other Court hearings on Motions and other related criminal matters, as well as representing clients before Grand Juries or otherwise under investigation by law enforcement and the government.

David was named by Business North Carolina Magazine in 2010 as a “Legal Elite” in the field of criminal law.

Licensed to practice law in North Carolina since 1996, David is admitted to practice in all State and Federal courts in North Carolina. He is a member of the North Carolina and Wake County Bar Associations.

David grew up in Cary and graduated from Cary High School. After attending UNC-Chapel Hill for undergraduate and law school, David returned to Wake County to practice law. Following a brief stint with a small Cary law firm, David opened his solo practice in Raleigh in 1997.
